Protective Cover for the Ossila Optical Spectrometer

Protect your equipment from drops and secure it to an optical table or breadboard

A tough but flexible rubber protective case for the Ossila .

It is important that the background, reference, and measurement spectra are all taken under the exact same conditions. We therefore recommend fixing the spectrometer and all spectroscopy equipment in place before taking any measurements. Many optical labs are equipped with optical tables for this purpose, but a secured workbench top achieves the same end result with a much smaller footprint (which is useful for busy multi-purpose spaces). The spectrometer case adds mounting points that allow the Ossila Optical Spectrometer to be bolted in the desired position to a standard metric or imperial optical table or plate. The top of the case has a small lip that prevents the spectrometer from being removed once in place, and the soft rubber construction and snug-fit will also offers protection.

The spectrometer case is available separately or as part of the . The latter also includes the Ossila , , , , , the aforementioned , and two . This kit is offered at a significant discount and ships free worldwide.

Resources and Support

Some factors that you should consider when choosing an optical spectrometer are the range of wavelengths you need to measure, the size and weight of the instrument, and its data collection capabilities.

Optical spectrometers take light and separate it by wavelength to create a spectra which shows the relative intensity of each. This basic principle has a wide range of applications and uses.
